L. E. Waterman Pen Company Correspondence. Circa 1911. This is a group of three related items.
a. The first item is a section cut from a mailing envelope. It has a U.S. postage stamp, 1910 cancellations, and the address, "L.E. Waterman Co, 173 Broadway, N.Y. City".
b. The second item is a mimeographed letter dated July 20, 1911, on L. E. Waterman Pen Company letterhead. The letter concerns two #15 pens sent in the previous year that had no identifying address from the sender. The pens were supposedly sent in from D. T. Blackburn & Son. Also, repair prices are listed in this letter at $7.60.
c. The final item in this group is a return correspondence from D. T. Blackburn & Son confirming that these are indeed the missing two pens, and this is the mailing cover wrapper. This mimeographed letter is dated July 25, 1911. The letter included payment of $7.60, and asks that the pens be repaired and returned as soon as possible.
Item a. measures 6 ¼" x 5", and is in fair condition. Item b. measures 8 ½" x 11" and is in very good condition, but shows some fold marks. Item c. measures 8 ½" x 11" and is in very good condition. It shows no fold marks, but has some warping to the edges.
